Not much has changed in 2012 for the Pathfinder with only a couple of the trims adding upscale features such as a DVD entertainment system, a power moonroof, and a navigation system as standard equipment. Speaking of trim levels, the Pathfinder is available in S, SV, Silver, and LE models and competes with the Dodge Nitro and Toyota 4Runner in the rugged SUV segment.
If you need an SUV that can tow and haul quite a bit of cargo, the 2012 Nissan Pathfinder and its two very capable engines are up to the task. A 266-horsepower, 4.0-liter V-6 generates 288 pounds-feet of torque, while a 310-horsepower, 5.6-liter V-8 cranks-out 388 pounds-feet of torque for both excellent towing and acceleration. Each engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and comes with rear- or four-wheel drive. Towing capacity reaches 7,000 pounds with the larger V-8 and a tow-hitch receiver comes standard in all models.
