New 2012 Jaguar XK Overview

For 2012, the XK receives new styling with a broader front bumper and other minor exterior tweaks. The XK is available in three trim levels: XK, XKR, and the high-performance XKR-S.
The base XK is powered by a 385-horsepower, 5.0-liter V-8 that is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift. The XKR takes power to the max with a supercharged 510-horsepower, 5.0-liter V-8, and can accelerate from 0-to-60 mph in a mere 4.6 seconds. JaguarDrive Control allows you to choose from Winter, Dynamic and Normal Modes depending on conditions and mood.
For those who really want to squeeze the most performance out of their XK, there is the limited-production XKR-S, which carries a 550-horsepower, 5.0-liter V-8 that generates 502 pounds-feet of torque and pushes the XKR-S from 0-to-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds. The XKR-S adds gloss-black accents, a carbon fiber splitter on the front bumper, two horizontal cooling slots, and a large fixed spoiler with a carbon fiber inlay.
Convertible models have a triple-lined fabric top that can automatically raised or lowered in less than 18 seconds and at speeds up to 15 mph. The distinctive oval grille, bi-xenon high-intensity-discharge headlights, dual exhaust, power-operated heated side mirrors with automatic dimming, 19- or 20-inch wheels and rain-sensing wipers set the 2012 Jaguar XK apart from other luxury coupe/convertibles.
Inside, handcrafted wood veneers and smooth metallic trim combine with a Piano Black finish across the center console and leather upholstery. The XK also keeps the signature Jaguar start-up sequence: press the engine start button, watch the JaguarDrive Gear Selector rises out from the center console, select a gear, and be off. The two-door Jaguar XK and its 2+2 seating is really only meant for two people to enjoy. A seven-inch touch-screen controls navigation, Bluetooth® connectivity and an optional 525-watt, 14-speaker Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system with USB interface.
